This page has useful information to assist students and parents
Dear Families, New Mexico Public Education Department is requiring the Taos schools to address Chronic Absences (excused and unexcused missed days) by following their minimum requirements of student and parent engagement. Every Day Counts! Please have your student to school on time each day. It is a parent's primary responsibility to assure your student is in compliance with the attendance policy of the Taos Municipal School District.
Students can access Canvas, the TMS learning management system, for blended learning activities developed by their high school teachers.
Students use Microsoft Office 365 to enable teachers and students to work together collaboratively and securely in the cloud.
As parents of students in 6th-12th, you can use powerschool to monitor grades and absences.
A leading blended learning intervention program building reading comprehension, academic vocabulary, and writing skills for students.

As you may have experienced there are several moments when your files, media, youtube videos, etc. are not able to upload into your Canvas page. Students are having trouble submitting files, or visibly seeing or hearing videos or audio recordings. The main issue with this is using Safari as the primary web browser. The problem with this is that if your MacOS is not updated frequently, certain types of media, photos, and files will not be recognized with an outdated version. The district is strongly recommending Google Chrome as your primary browser. Firefox is recommended as well because the browsers are external and can be updated through the web without IT administrative privileges.
