At approx. 12:03 PM today, a report was made regarding the sound of gunfire in the area surrounding Taos High School. Taos Sheriff’s Department was immediately dispatched and investigating the report. Following safety protocols, THS was under lockdown then shelter in place which has been lifted. More updates coming.

Staff and students wear RED, WHITE, and BLUE. - 9/13 Friday football game Taos against Aztec, we wear camouflage to honor Patriots Day with gold to support the brave children fighting cancer! - 9/19 National IT Professionals Day. Thank the tech heroes keeping us connected! - 9/28 National School Parent Group Day. Recognize and appreciate the parent volunteers who support our schools. Hello Taos High School 11th and 12th grade parents and guardians, Taos High School, GEAR UP and the Student Success Agency (SSA) have partnered to provide free support service to our students! Students will be able to access agency services and connect with their Agent anywhere, anytime, including afterschool and on the weekends, through their Winbox. The Winbox is the official Student Success Agency app that allows students to access: ● Near-peer mentorship from SSA’s network of Agents ● Ongoing coaching for academic, college, career, and life success ● Personalized opportunities based on their goals and interests ● Unlimited tutoring and homework help around their schedule ● Postsecondary planning tools ● FAFSA and scholarship support An SSA representative will be visiting THS on September 9, 2024 to introduce students to SSA and show them how to download the Winbox app. If you would like your student to connect early, you can follow the below steps with them: 1. Scan the QR code to download the Winbox app 2. Create Profile 3. Submit consent form to activate SSA+ a. E-sign the form by sending the link in the Winbox to parents/guardians b. Upload a signed paper form in the Winbox NOTE: All students who sign up for the Winbox have access to SSA Basic, but submitting a consent form unlocks SSA+ so your student can message their Agent in a private thread, receive live virtual tutoring, and attend live virtual community events. Good afternoon parents and guardians, if your child requires medication at school you must contact the nurses office at your child’s campus to obtain all proper documents in order for the medication to be on site, this includes inhalers and emergency medications that are self carried and administered. Medications can only be dropped off and signed in with the school nurse, please call your campuses school nurse and make arrangements to do this. The Taos Municipal Schools nursing department looks forward to continuing to meet your child’s health needs and promoting their overall well-being this school year.
