National Weather Service has issued Hazardous Weather Conditions and Winter Weather Advisory until January 30, 11:00 PM MST
Taos Municipal Schools will be on a 2-hour delay tomorrow, Thursday, January 30, 2025.
We will continue monitoring the weather and provide any updates, if needed, through our school messaging, website (taosschools.org), Facebook (https://facebook.com)and Instagram taos_municipal_schools.

❄️ 2-Hour Delay Tomorrow – Tuesday January 21, 2025 ❄️
Due to extreme cold temperatures, all Taos Municipal Schools will operate on a 2-hour delay tomorrow, January 21, 2025.
The National Weather Service forecasts a low of -8°F in Taos tonight, with wind chill values possibly reaching -21°F, which could lead to hypothermia or frostbite if precautions are not taken.
🚨 Extreme Cold Warning remains in effect from 5 PM Monday through 11 AM Tuesday (Jan. 21).
Please dress warmly, limit time outdoors, and stay safe. Thank you for your understanding!

Attention Taos Municipal Schools families: Monday, January 15, 2024, will now be a regular school day instead of a virtual day.

Our community, like the nation, is seeing an increase in norovirus, flu, and other illnesses. As we prepare to return to school, please prioritize health and safety. If your child has vomiting, diarrhea, or fever, keep them home 24 hours after symptoms resolve. Check your email for more info.

Safety Message
At 8:29 AM, a BB gun fell from a student’s backpack at Enos Garcia Elementary. It was safely confiscated by staff, and the student was detained by administration. Local law enforcement responded promptly. The safety of our students and staff remains our top priority.

Enos Garcia Elementary was briefly placed under lock down due to an unidentified adult at the campus. The adult was quickly identified as an employee of the district and lock down was lifted. As always, the safety of the students and staff is our priority. Thank you.
