The Taos High School Poetry Club is sponsored by Mr. Francis Hahn. The poetry team is composed of students from Mr. Hahn's poetry class, which takes place first period. The major class activities include:

-Weekly poetry slams within the class.

-Exploring new methods of writing poetry.

-Learning to perform poetry readings.

The class also requires entrepreneurship projects to raise funds so that the poetry team may travel to an annual poetry slam in New York City. The fund raising includes:

-Bake Sales

- Local and school poetry slams hosted by the team.

- The publication of school anthologies which include, poetry and prose by high school students and faculty.
