SkillsUSA

SkillsUSA is a career-technical program for students as individuals to learn leadership and employability skills. SkillsUSA activities and programs develop students in three distinct areas: personal skills, workplace skills and technical skills that are grounded in academics. The Taos High Chapter of SkillsUSA meets the 2nd Wednesday of each month at the Edu@Work Café in the culinary department. Lunch is provided. Sections within the chapter are Culinary Arts, Professional Baking, Restaurant Service, Cabinetmaking, Drafting and Welding.

Many career fields are included in the state competitions in April. Students can place with Gold, Silver and Bronze medals with the Gold winners representing NM at the National Leadership Conference in June.
