Open Windows Explorer. In Windows XP, you will be looking at the My Documents folder. This is where you should have all your files. From time to time, once a week is good. Highlight all items in this folder by pressing ctrl-a, or on the menu, Edit | Select All. Look down the list of drives, under My Documents. You may need to scroll down by clicking the down arrow at the bottom. Find the one that has your username at the start. It should say something like this. rtspitz on 'Web/user/users' (H:) It all depends on where you work. Now click and hold in the files on the right, the ones in My Documents. Drag your files to the H: drive. You can keep them here and open them from here if you wish. Better to use your computer's hard drive and copy over once a week as a backup. The more places you can backup your files the better. The files on the H drive will be accessible anywhere in your building. There are small devices called "Pen drives" or "USB drives." These are small units that look like the top of a marker. They plug into a USB port and show up as a new hard drive. These come in a variety of sizes: 32, 64, 128 MB and up to 512. 128MB is now probably the smallest that can be found and is only $20 or less. These work much better than floppy disks and are more realiable.
