The mission of Health Services is to:

Support and promote
the health and wellbeing of students with an emphasis on disease
prevention and wellness, reduce absenteeism, increase involvement
ands understanding of one’s own health care.

Support
parent/guardian involvement and affirm respect for the value
of individuals and their families in order to reach their full
educational potential.

The Taos Municipal
Schools Health Centers are available to provide health care and
counseling services free of charge to all Students at the Taos
Municipal Schools.

Student participation
is voluntary.
PROVIDE THE
FOLLOWING SERVICES FOR STUDENTS AND STAFF:
-
Immunization surveillance and administration of the Tdap vaccine (
Tetanus, Diptheria and Acellular Pertussis) to students attending
the middle and high schools.

Flu vaccine administration to staff and students.
-
Health Screenings, Vision, hearing, heights, weights, ear, nose,
throat, dental, heart/lungs and ocular health on students grades:
kindergarten, first, third, eighth, and tenth.

Vision screenings on all students, kindergarten through fifth
grades.
-
Injury and sick care, emergency care, and referrals
-
Collaboration with parents and physicians, School Based Health
Center and other health care agencies.

Student Assistance Teams health screenings

Health Education: individual, class and community presentations.
