Taos Cyber Magnet School offers a wide
range of courses including twenty-six different science and math
courses. Delivery of these courses is offered in virtual and
non-virtual formats. The virtual courses are purchased from the
National Network of Digital Schools (NNDS) which is accredited by
the Commission on Trans-Regional Accreditation (CITA). The
non-virtual classes are held in partnership with UNM Taos.
Each course offers students an opportunity to enrich their learning
by doing computer interactive research. The technological aspects of
student learning are reinforced through reading and the answering of
analytical questions. In order to help gage student comprehension,
students are assessed at the end of each lesson, and they take
cumulative exams every five lessons. Although the curriculum of the
Cyber School is rigorous, students gain the strength to become
independent learners. The small class size affords each student a
high degree of individualized attention.
